Yesterday I won £25!

hippocrates...wandering womb...sex...so on

Oh oh oh. I am oh so hating my essay.* I am consoling myself with dreams of Copenhagen.

*And I really wish I didn't. I love the topic (Greek wimmin!!!) so much and I loved researching it but the actual question itself is evil bollocks and I hate not having something to argue about. 300 Spartans words. 300 more words and I can stop.

They should make kilt-wearing compulsory in Scotland.

Three days ago the wind ATE MY UMBRELLA.

I liked 'The Prestige'

At El Barrio last night we drank lots of mojitos (YUM!) and Martin taught us salsa dancing. There was a huge hen party there all trying to dress up like Natalie-Portman-in-the-pink-wig-in-Closer (sort of like this)which, if you imagine a roomful of tipsy women in matching pink wigs, was actually slightly spooky. I love watching hen parties. They have this impressive lack of inhibition. Plus it's so funny to watch them get absolutely plastered throughout the evening - they start off in such a good mood and suddenly disaster strikes half way through. This party didn't disappoint...as the evening went on we watched them stagger one by one to the toilets, weaving about and falling over, until they were all piled up there. I'm sure they viewed it as a successful night.

Last night I drank a tad too much and saw The Ruffness at the Bongo Club (it was some sort of fundraiser by Free Tibet Soc). I liked them muchly.

Tomorrow I go home for the weekend.
Dear Everyone,

A while back I said I’d post up some pics of the summer holiday in Spain. But I didn’t. Shame on me.

I got guilty so here they are…Collapse )

In conclusion, that was the holiday. Next picture post: uni.

I loved 'Priscilla: Queen of the Desert'

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your music library
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you are cool...

I got mum to ring me yesterday (as a rule she doesn't) and the convo went something like:

MUM: So how's life?
ME: Great! How was Gael? ( she and Aaron went to the NFT to see Gael Garcia Bernal in this interview on Monday)
MUM: V. good blah blah blah etc.
ME: So I'll be seeing you up here in a few weeks?
MUM: What?
ME: What? I said a few weeks.
MUM: Flip, we're not coming up in two weeks. We're coming up this weekend.
ME: What?

I forgot the family are coming up to visit me on Sunday for a week. oops. But I'll (hopefully) get pampered a bit and do some of the touristy stuff in Edinburgh that as of yet I haven't got round to doing.

I also got my essay back, I got a good 2.1 for it which, considering it was a scribbled-out-at-the-last-minute sort of thing, made me happy.

Furthermore, facebook is horribly addictive and I wanted to see BENT at Bedlam tonight but watched Monty Python with Aly and the guys instead.

I met a Katya today

What is the importance of tourism in propagating the image of ancient Greece in the modern world?

Nearly 4 am and I don't know why I'm still up.
